Earth at Night

This is one of the most interesting pictures I have seen. This is what the Earth looks like at night. We can see how Japan shines, the coast of France is brightly lit, the big cities in Australia, the Nile delta, and the difference between east and west of United States. Can you find your favorite country or city? The above image is actually a composite of hundreds of pictures made by the orbiting DMSP satellites.

It is beautiful, but it also reminds us how much emission we have contributed to this earth.
